MEET MADDY: Hi I’m Maddy I’m 17 years old and I live in North Wales and started dancing when I was 2. I started competitive dance when I joined ‘Elsberdance’ when I was 9. I’m currently in my first-year training in Liverpool at ‘Dynamix College’. I take classes in modern, tap, ballet, jazz, Acro, lyrical, commercial, and even Irish dancing. I have been an AcroPAD athlete for just over 2 years, I performed on the mainstage at Move IT with AcroPAD in 2022 and have assisted them in various workshops across the UK. I have been lucky enough to represent both England and Wales in the Dance World Cup. In 2019 in Portugal, I performed my Acro solo for the first time and was placed 5th in my section. I have appeared on CBBC’s Series 2 of Taking the Next Step and Series 1 of The Greatest Dancer where my Acro skills were recognised by Diversity’s Jordan Banjo. I have recently become a qualified Acro teacher within the Acrobatic Arts syllabus and have recently done some choreography for a local pantomime. At the moment, I am getting regular work at gigs and events, which I furtherly enjoy. I’m really looking forward to developing my career path within the performing arts industry.

WHAT'S IN YOUR DANCE BAG: I feel like I carry my entire life in my dance bag. From all dance shoes like ballet shoes, tap shoes, sometimes even Irish hard shoes to different change of clothes, my computer, college work, lunch, drinks and my whole make-up and hair bag. 

FAVE ACRO MOVE: My favourite Acro move at the moment is my switch aerial because it a cool and impressive trick to watch and do as your legs switch in mid-air.

WHO IS YOUR HERO: I struggle with this question because I don’t particularly have a hero, but I do have lots of people that inspire me and would like to think that one day that I would be an inspiration/hero to someone. 

ON MY REST DAY: When I’m not dancing or teaching (which is very rare) I sleep in and watch Netflix majority of the day or sometimes catch up with some of my old friends.
